19 year old Welsh International Price is on standby to be named in the Ipswich Town goal if regular number one Kelvin Davis does not recover from the dislocated finger he sustained during the midweek defeat at Wigan's JJB Stadium.
Speaking to the Official Club Website, Lewis said : "I would have come on against Wigan if there had been more time left but Kelvin dislocated his finger in the last seconds and there wasn't time to make a change."
"Obviously I am aware of the situation and that I might be called upon against West Ham but I haven't really thought about it and won't do until the need arises.
"I prepare for every match as though I am playing but I accept this could be slightly different from normal.
"The nerves will be there, I know. I get nervous before every game I play in really but once the match starts, they soon disappear. Anyway, if I do play against West Ham - at least it's a nice quiet game for my debut!"
