ITFM reported earlier today that Forster will undergo scans today on the reoccurence on a knee injury, that had previously required an operation earlier in the season. It is now feared that he might require further surgery to repair cartilage damage.

Physio Dave Williams told the club site: "We are taking Fozzie to see a specialist and we'll know more after scans but it's possible that it's cartilage trouble.

"It's the same knee that he had surgery on earlier this season and it could be connected to that.

"We were optimistic at the start of the week that he was making progress, but it's not worked out like that and surgery is a possibility now."

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Adam Proudlock, signed on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday, had a reoccurrence of his troblesome knee injury, on his comeback against Stoke.

He is also having scans today and could be another casualty on the operating table.
