The 24-year old striker was sacked by Sheffield Wednesday for breaching club discipline and has been on loan with Town since Septemeber.
A knee injury has halted his progress at a time when Town are in desperate need of fit strikers but Proudlock looks to have overcome his injury worries after he came on as a substitute at the Britannia Stadium.
Proudlock has been given a contract which runs until the end of the current campaign and Joe Royle and his staff will be expecting him to impress during that time, if he wants to earn himself a longer deal at Portman Road.
