ITFM sources suggest almost three weeks ago that the La Liga club were interested in taking the former Celta Vigo star back to Spain, something which the Evening Star yesterday claimed was also the case, although they seemed to think it was an exclusive, when clearly ITFM got there first.
However today Betis have rejected claims that they are interested in 24 year old Counago and have revealed they are not looking to strengthen their squad at this moment in time, despite rumours to suggest otherwise.
A Real Betis spokesman told popular Ipswich Town Website TWTD: "The squad is now complete, and we are not thinking about incorporations in the short term. We are offered a lot of players every day, principally forwards, but the manager has assured us that part of current squad is sufficiently covered."
"I have not asked for more players and we need to give every confidence possible to Martin Palermo. That is why I signed him."
