Reserves draw with Palace

Town fielded a strong side with club skipper Jim Magilton requesting to take part. He partnered Norweigan recent recruit Vermund Brekke-Skard in the centre of midfield.

Gerrard Nash made a return after his loan spell at Hartlepool, whilst Wales number one Lewis Price continued in goal and lively pairing Billy Clarke and Darryl Knights made up the frontline.

After half an hour though the Blues found themselves one down, Louis Gabbon beating Lewis Price in the Ipswich goal.

Magilton put on a commnding display in midfield and was withdrawn on the hour mark, only after Liam Trotter had equalised for Town on 54 minutes though.

The blues had chances to win the game though and Canadian international Jamie Peters did his chances of a starting berth at Molineux on Saturday no harm.

Two Town players had to leave the field of play due to injury however. Scott Mitchell, who was told this week that his contract will not be exteneded past the summer, left the filed after just 17 minutes and Gerrard Nash was also forced off.
