Town's goals came from Dean Bowditch and Pablo Counago, with both strikers, especially the later impressiong throughout the match showing Joe Royle they are pushing hard to be included in the first team should the chance arrive.
Town's first goal came in the 43rd minute when a neat move starting with Dean Bowditch and involving Antonio Murray ended with a low cross to Spaniard Pablo Counago who scored from close range to continue his recent fine run of scoring form for Town's second string.
Counago was also heavily involved in Town's second goal, setting young England Under 19 international Dean Bowditch to half volley from 20 yards out to seal the points for the blues.
Regular first team goalkeeper, Kelvin Davis returning from a back injury to feature in the match came through the game unscathed, making one great saves for West Ham's former Millwall striker Moses Ashkodi.
