The reports from the North East suggest that the under fire Magpies coach has watched Richards and is impressed with what he sees and thinks that the Ipswich Town academy product has what it takes to step up a level into the Premiership.
Newcastle currently have a left back shortage, with the only left back avaliable to them being Olivier Bernard who scored against Arsenal last Friday thanks to good work by former blue Kieron Dyer so a move for young Richards could very much be on the cards when the transfer window reopens in January
