Richards: We can at least make the play-offs

Speaking to the East Anglian Daily times, Richards proclaimed he harbours promotion aspirations this season,

"I don't see why we cannot at least go on and make the play-offs. We have some great players here and are getting better and better. We had a dissappointing start but I can see us improving and getting up into the promotion places."

Richards followed up his headed goal against Derby in midweek with a calmly dispatched 56th minute penalty against Plymouth, to put the game out of sight.

It was his first penalty in his professional career and he hinted that he wouldn't hesitate in stepping up to the spot again,

"I'm not bothered about a crowd so I didn't feel any pressure from the fans."

After being left out of the side for 4 games before he took up his new midfield position, Richards will now face competition for his place after Ian Westlake got half-an-hour on Saturday in his quest for match fitness after an ankle injury.

Westlake is included in the Reserve side that will play Chelsea tonight at Aldershot Town's ground.
