Speaking to the Official Club Website, Town boss Roy Keane confirmed: "I have spoken to Jack and Brucie and we may have news on that next week
"We've been delighted with Jack. He's a good lad, shown a good attitude and he's improving all the time.
"I'd like to keep him but we have to respect he's not our player, he's Sunderland's and we have to speak to them and try and get the right deal.
"We have got a few more weeks with Arran but we've been delighted with him and we expect him to stay longer than his contract expires."
