Town currently have three players on loan, Chris-Bart Williams, Shefki Kuqi, and Alan Mahon, the latter picked up an injury on Saturday in the 1-0 win over Stoke City at Portman Road, and could be sidelines for up to six weeks which would leave the blues short on midfield cover.
With Martijn Reuser still out and additional injuries to Drissa Diallo, Darren Bent, John McGreal and Chris Makin, The Town squad is beginning to look a bit thin on the ground again, soemthing which former Everton Boss Royle may feel needs addressing by bringing in an extra player on loan.
Royle admitted he hopes that Mahon's injury was not as bad as first thought, but if it is a torn hamstring as we reported on Saturday, Royle said a move for another loanee would be possible: "If that's the case, there is room within the budget to bring in another loan player and that's something I would consider." Royle commented.
"We need to first of all assess the situation, but while a new face is unlikely before tomorrow's visit to Crystal Palace it's a possibility before the weekend."
