The blues boss told the Official Club Website this evening: "The substitutes paid off, with Shefki giving us a physical presence up front in the second-half. Martijn Reuser also did well for us after coming on at the break and was an influence on our performance improving in the second-half.

"My own personal player of the match, though, was John McGreal. He declared himself fit after training on Friday and was outstanding for us against Rotherham.

"We were poor in the first-half and they hit the post when it was 1-0 and then right at the end, they hit the woodwork again and we went straight up the other end and made it 3-1.

"It's a big win for us, no doubt about that and sets the game up for Monday and Sunderland coming to Portman Road."
