Royle: More to Come from Darren

Town's top scorer for the 2003/4 season yesterday scored his third goal in six games for England's Under 21 side when he netted his nations third in a 3-1 win at Middlesborough's Riverside Stadium and following his perfomance in the match, Royle feels the youngster has much to offer the club.

“He's not far off one every two games. His record for us is fantastic and there is still so much more to come from the kid. It's not that Darren lacks confidence, it's just that he is still young and learning the striker's craft, which is something we are trying to teach him." the former Everton boss told the Evening Star.

"One thing Darren does have is the knack of being in the right place at the right time - and that's something you definitely can't teach. Darren's record for Ipswich is impressive and he's a great kid who is willing to learn. He wants to be at the very top, but he's still young.”
