The 33 year old Frenchman joined Town from Grimsby on a free transfer during the Summer of 2003 and was initally offered a 3 month contract with the club. After the exit of Thomas Gaardsoe, the deal was extended to a two year contract.
Speaking to the Official QPR website of Santos, Hoops manager Ian Holloway said: "He's a player I've had my eye on for a while. I wanted to bring him in last year, but Ipswich wouldn't let him go. He plays the way I want, he's very quick, a great communicator and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Santos is expected to sign a two year deal officialy with the club early next week after undergoing a medical at Loftus Road.
