The former Sheffield United hardman has had some problems with his groin for a few weeks now which made him doubtful for the win over Bradford, where he did play, but wasn't helped by taking a big knock on the back during the game at Valley Parade.
Santos missed training with the rest of the squad this morning, and as Joe Royle told the club website, it's very much a major worry: "We have got Georges out there over the last couple of games but the groin injury is still bothering him and he is rated at less than 50/50 for the Burnley game,"
If however Georges doesn't make it, despite a number of defensive injuries, Royle insists the club do have adequate cover: "We have youngsters like Gerard Nash who can come in. Fabian Wilnis and Chris Bart-Williams can also do a job there so we have contingency plans but we are not ruling big Georges out yet."
