The central defender who joined the club from Grimsby on a free transfer last Summer has been allowed to talk to Burnley by Town boss Joe Royle, and although Santos is happy at Portman Road, he admits that he is keeping an open mind about his future.
“Things change all the time in football. I would be more than happy to stay at Ipswich and fight for my place but at the same time every player wants regular football." he told the East Anglian Daily Times
“I still think I can do that at Ipswich. Even after the Watford thing I was in the side and playing, so you never know. I have not spoken to anyone from Burnley yet and I'm waiting for my agent to contact me. I will see what they have to say and will keep an open mind.”
With Drissa Diallo, Jason De Vos and Richard Naylor all fighting with Santos for the two starting centre back spots and the emergence of youngsters Aidan Collins and Gerard Nash, a move for Santos would most likely give him a better chance of first team football.
