Speaking to the Ipswich Evening Star of last night's win the under fire blues chief who suceeded John Kerr to the hotseat in 1995 said: “We have invested in our future, and it was encouraging to see our youngsters do so well.
“Including Richard Naylor, nine of last night's squad came through the youth schemes at Portman Road. The Academy is where we are building for the future, and we saw another youngster make a big statement with Dean Bowditch having a highly encouraging full league debut.
“As long as we keep producing talented players from Bryan Klug's Academy we will remain a force in English football. It was very satisfying to watch and we must build on this win. This is one victory we have picked up - nine to go.”
