Sheepshanks Set for May Departure?

56 year old Sheepshanks took over as chairman at Portman Road in 1995 following the stepping down of John Kerr after the teams relegation from the FA Premiership in the 1994/1995 season with George Burley then manager at the club.

However it is now believed that when he stepped down as executive chairman last May, he agreed a one year contract with the club in his non-executive role, and with just over a month left to run on his contract, there have been no detailed talks about extending his stay at the club.

Should Sheepshanks leave the club next month, he would be the second high profile figure to leave through the Portman Road gates, with Chief Executive Derek Bowden already having confirmed he will leave at the end of the current season.
