Stewart: I Was Impressed

Despite the final scoreline being a 3-2 defeat for the blues due to some poor defending, former blues hero Stewart thought there was much for Town fans to be positive about: "All credit to Ipswich – they impressed me. They have had a good run and have what it takes to pick themselves up again." he told the Ipswich Evening Star.

"Ipswich were as good a side as we have played against all season, especially in the first half when they really took the game to us. There looks to be plenty for Town fans to be encouraged by but we pulled level just before the break and regrouped at half-time."

"I feel that we at Sunderland can keep moving up the table but I told the Ipswich lads that they can quickly get back to winning ways again."
