The Republic of Ireland youth international is out of contract at the end of June, and has been offered a new contract by Town boss Roy Keane and is expected to sign in the coming days.
Academy graduate Ed Upson, who scored Town's FA Youth Cup winning goal against Southampton, has also been offered a one year deal and is expected to sign in the coming days.
Meanwhile Liam Trotter is likely to hear if he will be offered a new contract after loan club Scunthorpe's season ends. Scunny play MK Dons in the second leg of their League One play-off semi-final on Friday.
