The former Sunderland defender will today have an injection in his Pelvis to try and cure a problem which has ruled him out since the end of August, although if this treatment is not successful, it is likely that he will be ruled out for the rest of the season.
"Chris goes into a Cambridge hospital on Wednesday for the injection which we hope will get him up and going again." Town boss Joe Royle told the Official Club Website.
"He has not progressed as we hoped he would after the operation and this is the next step. We expect to know within seven days whether it has been a success or not. If it doesn't do the trick then further surgery is likely and that would be the end of the season for him."
