Rowe joined Town on a part time basis in 1996 before becoming full time following Town's promotion to the Premiership in 2000.

Confirming the news to the local press, a spokesman said: "I can confirm that Roy Rowe has been made redundant as part of a reorganisation of the football medical staff.

"We thank him for his services and wish him every success in the future."
