The young town star is yet to kick a ball this season since suffering from post-viral syndrome following a bout of shingles.
Speaking to the official club website the Irishman said: “I have been doing some pilates-based exercises and am seeing the physio staff each day.
“It's obviously a frustrating time for me but I've been told by the specialists that I have to take my recovery one step at a time.
“Some days I feel better than others but I do feel that I am progressing and the physio staff have been great.
“I've not been given any targets to do this or that, it's just a case of taking things one step at a time.”
The Town number seven, made 29 starts last season, scoring three goals and it is hoped his return will coincide with Mark Noble's return to West Ham, with the loanee due to report back to the Hammers in late November.
Noble is currently on a three-month loan, however due to loan regulations may only stay at the club for a period of 93 days. Town have already stated that they will attempt to re-sign the player in January, on either a permanent deal, or on another window-to-window loan.
