Youngster Aidian Collins, who made his debut for the club towards the end of last season, opened the scoring for the blues on the half hour with a great header at the near post following an Ipswich Town corner.
Liam Craig added a second for the blues halfway through the second half after a break by Craig Reid ended with a cross from the young striker which was turned in at the far post by Craig. Fulham hit back with a late consolation goal from a free kick, but it was not enough to prevent Town from winning.
Speaking of his teams win, Academy boss Ian Smith told the official club website: "It was a silly goal to concede but we were never really in any danger of letting the lead slip.
"I was delighted with the boys. It was a good game in that both teams tried to play the right way and if teams take us on at a passing game, they will have their work cut out against our lads
"The youngsters are starting to handle the physical side of the game now and I said it might be Christmas before we start to see the best of them. There are signs that we might be ahead of that schedule."
