The court heard that when Venus was breathalysed he had 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
The players lawyer Paul Roach told the court that Venus had been to a party where he had drunk four pints of beer but felt he was capable of driving.
