Originally the schoolboy who turned 16 last week, was set to join up with the England under 16 team for the Montaigu tournament in France which starts on Wednesday.
Now however, as Jim Magilton told the Official Club Website, Wickham will be staying at Portman Road: "We called Connor back from England yesterday and he is training with the first-team this week.
"I would not have taken him off international duty if he wasn't in my thoughts for the weekend but we will see how he gets on this week."
Should the striker feature against Doncaster Rovers, he would become the youngest ever player to appear for Town at just 16 years and 11 days, beating current record holder Jason Dozzell who was 46 days older when he made his debut over 25 years ago.
