Speaking to the Official Club Website, the blues boss said: "Overall I was really pleased with the performance.
"We knew we would have to dig in and deal with the nitty gritty side of the game and I felt we did that very well. We coped with their set-pieces in the second-half and the players showed terrific application and attitude.
"It's another three points and another clean sheet and we are making progress. We've had back to back wins and we are on a decent run of form and confidence is building all the time.
"But we know there is a lot of football to be played yet and we're not getting carried away, just as we weren't getting carried away when things were not going our way earlier in the season.
"There are still things that I want us to do better but over the 90 minutes, the players deserve a lot of credit for their performance."
