Speaking to the Official Club Website, Magilton said: "I think there were plenty of positives to take from the game.
"Last season we got battered for the first-half but there was nothing between the two sides this time. We just need to show a little more belief that we can go to places like Charlton and come away with three points.
"I thought 1-1 was a fair reflection on the play at the break. We finished the half strongly and I think if we had showed some more composure and quality in the second-half, we could have gone on to get a really good result.
"Both goals were bad goals to give away though. Moritz has held his hands up for the second. He knows he got the wrong side of his man.
"We had chances but it wasn't to be our day and now we have to regroup again through the break and come out of it a better side."
