Speaking to the Official Club Website, Magilton said: "You better believe it that I am looking for a response from the players.
"It was a very disappointing performance from us and totally unacceptable. We had players out there who thought they could just turn up and win the game. They need to realise they are not good enough to do that.
"We were lethargic in the first-half and unprofessional. It was the same 11 players that started against Sheffield Wednesday but certainly not the same performance.
"MK Dons deserve all the credit. They could have been out of sight in the first-half and even when we were back in the game and then in front, they never let their heads drop.
"I said a few choice words to the players in the dressing-room and they were left in no doubts about how I felt. Now we move on to Saturday and what will be a difficult game at Plymouth."
