The two sides had drawn 1-1 at Portman Road in the first leg two weeks ago.

Sartid almost got an early goal, as Boris Vaskovic hit the woodwork with a mis-hit shot in the fourth minute.

Town then took the lead as Marcus Bent converted a ninth minute penalty. The striker had been bundled over in the area by Slavoljub Kizic from Finidi George's cross.

Seven minutes later Bent struck a post with a superb volley from Pablo Counago's ball in from the left, with keeper Dragan Zilic beaten.

On the half hour, Jamie Clapham bundled Nebojsa Savic's header off the line and up on to the crossbar, as Town escaped by the narrowest of margins.

Early in the second period midfielder Jim Magilton missed a clear chance to double the lead, allowing Zilic to save his shot after Bent had done superbly to set up the opportunity.

Bent and Counago also had good chances to extend the advantage as well, but their misses didn't matter at the final whistle, as George Burley's men took their place in the next round.
