Town Boss Joe Royle admitted he felt sorry for Matt Mills who scored the own goal to give Ipswich the three points: "I felt for him. It wasn't the best way to win but I think we just deserved it.
"I wouldn't have been happy with a draw and we needed to start winning away games if we are to keep challenging at the top. I thought Coventry were nervous after their recent results."
"We defended well as a unit and they had very few chances. Lewis did well with the penalty save and Darren Bent made the first goal for Bowditch down the right flank.
"It's nice to go into the break on top of the League with Wigan - I don't count goal difference!"
Meanwhile Coventry boss Peter Reid feels Mills will learn from the error: "It's part of his education. It's a cruel game sometimes but he's done great for us, like Luke Steele in goal, and mistakes will be part of their game. Without those two, though we'd really be in the mire so we're lucky to have them."
"I thought we passed it round really well and certainly shaded the first half. We deserved to take something from the game and were very unlucky, especially to lose by a mistake to a young player who's been otherwise fantastic for us."
