Centre back Richard Naylor was delighted with his sides response to the defeat against Millwall on Boxing Day: "It was important that we bounced back as soon as possible after Millwall and we had that opportunity with a home game against Stoke.
"We created lots of chances and were perhaps a little disappointed that we didn't take more advantage of those opportunities because it gets a bit nervy towards the end because they were obviously going to try to come out to us in the second-half.
"We battered them in the first-half and we always deserved to win. We've had confidence in our ability all season. When we're at our best we're a match for anyone."
Midfielder Ian Westlake was also pleased with his teams peformance, and felt the win was never really in doubt: "I thought we played really well today; everyone was looking good and we passed the ball well. We kept possession and always looked like winning.
"We had chances throughout the game; we only put one away but that's enough when you keep a clean sheet. We've forgotten Millwall and moved on and hopefully we can push on now and win the Championship."
Right back Fabian Wilnis meanwhile felt that while Town played well, they should have scored more than one goal: "This was an important result following the Millwall game where we were the better team but failed to get the result.
"It's important to perform well in front of your own crowd and I was delighted with the result. We had so many chances but just couldn't put them away but we continue to make lots of chances and that's always going to give us the opportunity to score.
"1-0 is a horrible scoreline because they're always in with a chance but we got the three points and that's most important. I really enjoyed the game. The guys are really geared up for the West Ham match; it's not going to be easy but we're up for it."
