Town's first goalscorer Tommy Miller admitted that the sides three day break before the game helped them enormously: "The trip to Tenerife did us all the world of good. We worked hard but came back refreshed and you could see that against Preston.
"It has done us good and mentally that is going to be vital with the games coming up, especially as it is all so tight. This is going to be a very important, and difficult month, but we go into it in good spirits after the win over Preston and we must keep it going.
"The games are coming thick and fast. By the end of the month we could be challenging the top two or we could slip out of the top six, it is down to us to make sure we are still well-placed for promotion."
Meanwhile the scorer of Town's second goal, Ian Westlake who has now hit four in five games, claimed his recent goalscoring exploits were about timing
"It is about timing. The first two goals were down to Benty doing well down the right and pulling it back. I know what he is going to do and make the runs early so I'm arriving at the right time." The water polo player admitted
"All I have to then do is just hit the target because I'm so close the keeper has not got time to react. Things are going well and I have not had a goal-scoring run like this since I was really young and playing for Clacton.
"Things have been a lot better this season than I predicted. I just hoped to be in around the team but I'm playing regularly. Alan Mahon and people like that have helped me and I have learned from them and improved my game."
