Midfielder Currie felt the Cup game against Bolton may have effected Town's peformance today: "We had the cup game which may have knocked us out of our stride a little bit and that perhaps accounted for our performance today but teams are not going to come here and make it easy for us.
"Coventry worked hard today but they tired towards the end; they put a lot of effort in and did well, it was a difficult game.
"The quality that we've got up front in Darren and Shefki showed through in the end; they were fantastic goals and we may even have gone on and scored a few more but we won and the boys are all thrilled to bits."
Meanwhile loanee Daniel Karbasiyoon agreed with Currie about todays clash being a tough one: "It was definitely a tough game today; going behind to an early goal was not the best start.
"I found it a little difficult, McSheffrey was tricky and he liked running at me and he was involved a whole lot during the game but it's part of the learning curve for me.
"In my short time here I've seen sides come here and pull something special out in an effort to beat the league leaders. Even though today didn't go as well as I would have wished it was a great experience and it would be great to stay longer at Ipswich."
Whilst Central defender Richard Naylor felt Coventry showed a good account of themselves: "Coventry played very well but we wouldn't expect anything else. We didn't really get our game going, we started slowly but as the game wore on we started to take more control.
"In the second-half I thought we dominated for periods. It was nice to get the goals and the strikers deserved them.
"We were disappointed with our performance overall but it was important that we won today and to get back to winning ways at Portman Road; we've done that so it's a springboard for us now."
