The new Greene King Stand, Opened by UEFA President Lennart Johansson, and the recently completed North Stand have took the capacity up from 22.559, to 30,350, the biggest since Portman Road was turned to an all-seated stadium in 1992.
Through these developments, the long term plan by the club has always been to provide and improve the facilities offered by the club for the player, staff and supporters of Ipswich Town.
Some of the other improvements around the ground include a new players tunnel, new ticket & customer services office (even if it is in a port cabin), the classy legends bar and the luxurious Galleria Restaurant have given the supporters and staff a stadium that they can be proud of.
The New Planet Blue Superstore in Portman Road opened in September 2002, this offered two floors, 12 till points, and much more space to shop, to avoid the large queues often present at the old World of Punch Stores.
More recentley, in October 2003, Ipswich Town opened it's First official Cafe The Planet Blue cafe, which can be located just above the Planet Blue superstore and is open from Monday to Friday to serve your food needs whatever the weather!
