Speaking after the game the former Everton gaffer told BBC Radio Five Live: "We got a goal at a vital time and the half-time talk was easy then. I think that's the 13th time we've come from behind to get a result this season. We felt we could go on to win.
Royle however wasn't pleased with the display of referee Uriah Rennie: "We were slightly aggrieved by one or two decisions. I felt at one stage they were getting everything except air miles.
"I'm a fan of Uriah Rennie's, but I don't think when he looks at the video of this game he'll be particularly proud of it."
