Kuqi came on as a substitute with Spanish Striker Pablo Counago at half time, and with just his second real touch after coming on, scored with a neat finish to get the blues back on level terms after Watford had gone ahead a few minutes previously.
Speaking of Kuqi's contribution, Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle commented after the match saying: "It's always nice when a plan comes together. Substitutes don't always work out like that but Shefki showed why we brought him here with a great finish. He also displayed his ability to defend with a terrific clearance from inside our box when Watford threatened to score"
"The midfield three of Jamma, Jim and Chris Bart-Williams dominated the game for us after the break and the movement of our front three was excellent. That tipped the match in our direction."
"We were very turgid in the first half and I told them if we do nothing else, we will pass the ball but I really thought we deserved to win in the end."
